ADVOCATE & CREATIVE
Shannon Elder is a writer, editor, and designer. Her work lies at the intersection of the political, the creative, and the human. A passionate community organizer, her advocacy focuses on issues related to immigration, racial & gender justice, and ethical representation in media.
She is currently the Managing Editor & Designer at Native Agency, an organization diversifying documentary photography and the journalism industry. She is also the Campaign Writer for Texas AFT, a union advocating for effective public education policy.
She graduated from Columbia College Chicago with her BA in Cultural Studies and Creative Non-Fiction Writing in 2017. Prior to college, she attended Denver School of the Arts for seven years and graduated with a degree in Creative Writing in 2013. Originally from Denver by way of Chicago, she is now based in Austin, Texas.
